Qualifications

There are specific parameters to be met in order to be considered for the CANNP designation NNCP, Natural Nutrition — Clinical Practitioner.
As well, the title Registered Nutritional Therapist requires a particular level of expertise.

Applicants:

  • Must be a graduate in good standing from a CANNP recognized program, or equivalent.
  • Must apply for insurance to operate as a practitioner by either providing proof of insurance if it is already acquired,
    or submitting an insurance form to Brokerlink (877-768-2262) or Zensurance and making payment directly to the insurance company.
  • Must pay yearly dues to CANNP, in full.

Please note that there is no need to submit upgrading hours requirement in your first year of membership. Thirty hours of upgrading will be required for subsequent years. Should you choose to apply for the 2 year option, 60 hours of upgrading will be required at the time of your next renewal. Upgrading can be carried to the following year.

New members who have past professional affiliations or several years of experience can contact us directly for special application consideration.

NOTE: You can apply for Membership while your insurance is being processed. All payments are for 12-month, no refunds available.

Professional Membership NNCP

Please ensure we have the following, and allow several weeks for processing:

  • Complete the on-line Application.
  • Upload, mail, scan or email photocopies of your transcripts from one of our recognized schools. (This can follow at a later date.)
  • Insurance documents and payment must be in the works. (A separate payment may be sent to Brokerlink along with the completed Insurance Form or provide documentation verifying the purchase of alternate liability insurance if it is already acquired.)  If you are presently not practicing, please contact us regarding required insurance.
  • Payment for membership may be made by cheque, on-line transfer or if you are using paypal or credit card through paypal* use this link. Credit card can also be taken via phone if you prefer – (519) 787-2667.

Registered Nutritional Therapist**

Exclusively for NNCP’s who have 3 or more years of counselling experience in the field and who remain a NNCP in good standing.

Please ensure we have the following, and allow several weeks for processing:

  1. Scan or email a complete and up-to-date resume.
  2. Scan or email a letter of 500-word maximum discussing business goals and philosophy.
  3. Scan or email 1 Case Study Summary (500-1000 word per)
  4. One time payment of $75 made by cheque, on-line transfer or if you are using paypal or credit card through paypal* use this link. Credit card can also be taken via phone if you prefer – (519) 787-2667.

If you have over 5 years of experience, and wish to secure the new registered title, please contact us directly as we can perhaps simplify the process for you.

Student Membership

The intent is to introduce the student to the CANNP and encourage an understanding of the offerings and benefits.

Please ensure we have the following, and allow several weeks for processing:

  • Photocopy from one of our presently approved programs indicating your status.
  • Payment is waived at this time. Students may apply at no cost.

Note: Students are eligible to attend some of the Power Hours (as deemed appropriate), to receive giveaways, to receive The Voice newsletter and to purchase the Legal Guide. Students are welcome to sign up for the Open Houses in order to better understand the offerings. Students do not have access to the Members Only section which is reserved for professional Members only, nor can students purchase professional business tools.
