Designations

CANNP offers the designation NNCP and title Registered Nutritional Therapist to those who qualify.

NNCP

The professional designation NNCP (Natural Nutrition – Clinical Practitioner) indicates that you are educated in natural or holistic nutrition, conducting a professional practice, continuing to learn and grow in your chosen field. It also is an indication that you are working in accordance with an established Code of Ethics and follow a defined Standard of Practice.  Member must always comply with local requirements, particularly in Alberta, New Brunswick and Quebec.

Registered Nutritional Therapist*

Registered Nutritional Therapist* is a title extended to qualifying Members. It reflects a professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field and a clear focus. All RNT’s must be NNCP’s in good standing. A registry of professionals granted the title is maintained by CANNP.

*The titles “Registered Nutritionist” and “Nutritionist” are reserved for use by members of the College of Dietitians of Alberta. While the title “Nutritional Therapist” does not incorporate any of the restricted elements, we advise all Alberta,Quebec and New Brunswick based practitioners to consult with a local lawyer to make sure the professional title and marketing materials they use, even if offered by the CANNP, comply with all local legal requirements. Members are responsible for ensuring the titles they choose to use comply with all local laws.
