NNCP

The professional designation NNCP (Natural Nutrition – Clinical Practitioner) indicates that you are educated in natural or holistic nutrition, conducting a professional practice, continuing to learn and grow in your chosen field. It also is an indication that you are working in accordance with an established Code of Ethics and follow a defined Scope of Practice. As far as we know, at this time, the designation meets all provincial requirements, though it is up to the Member to always comply with local requirements.

RNT

Registered Nutritional Therapist* is a title extended to qualifying Members. It reflects a professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field and a clear focus. All RNT’s must be NNCP’s in good standing. A registry of professional granted the title is maintained by CANNP.

*The titles “Registered Nutritionist” and “Nutritionist” are reserved for use by members of the College of Dietitians of Alberta. While the title “Nutritional Therapist” does not incorporate any of the restricted elements, we advise all Alberta based practitioners to consult with a local lawyer to make sure the professional title and marketing materials they use, even if offered by the CANNP, comply with all local legal requirements. Members are responsible for ensuring the titles they choose to use comply with all local laws.
